My Seventeenth Birthday!

One of my favorite times of the year has come around… Autumn! It means chunky scarves, warm PSL’s, fuzzy socks and fireside evenings. *sigh* bliss!

It also means that my birthday has drawn near! Woohoo! I just love any good excuse to eat cake, really. I would get a cake for any day if I could actually afford that, LOL. 😉

But yes, my 17th birthday has come with the ides of September and the festivities began!

I have boo-koodles (not a real word, but it essentially means “plenty” or “a lot”) of stories from birthdays past – both mine and other people’s.

A quick one for nostalgia and old time’s sake:

One tradition that has stuck with me to be a favorite was how my dad treated his being at work on our (my siblings’ or my) special day. He would order one hundred balloons of our favorite color and have them ordered to the birthday-child by name. The man would come, excited and happy for us, and give us a giant swarm of birthday balloons! My parents let us do with them as we pleased, and keep them until they all deflated. They would fill our kitchen, and we would shriek if someone let a balloon go in the tall-ceilings of the foyer. To my parents relief, no one had told us about drinking helium at that age! 😉

We did not have a big party or anything huge, but it was a sweet time with my family and my team. We had cupcakes at lunch and they all sang “Happy Birthday” they also prayed over me and took turns telling me reasons they loved having me on their team. I felt so loved and blessed my them! It was wonderful.

Later my family went to our RV and we had my favorite – cookie cake with extra icing flowers! I had requested special sparkler candles, and let me tell you… it was fun trying to prevent the cake from catching on fire! LOL! After they sang and we ate, we opened gifts; I am so thankful for my family’s kind generosity! Keep your eyes peeled, some of the new beauties will be featured on Quaintrelle!

Over all, it was a wonderful birthday and I loved spending it with people that matter to me. It was a birthday to remember!

And before anyone else asks… no, I do not feel any older! 🙂 hahaha!

Have a wonderful day, my lovelies! You are loved!
